we found many discarded tiles at a house renovation adjacent to a friend's house. The tiles are about 1"x 1" were part of 12" mosaic maps.
The plan:
1. to create a patterned mosaic inlay for a stacking table using the broken pieces
2. using the whole pieces create an accent for back splash in the kitchen or bathroom.

Inlay on the foyer floor perhaps.
those look like hakatai tiles. pretty cheap on their own if you wanted to buy more instead of using scraps.
cost isn't the issue, we are working to make this a green remodel - with an aim to make it LEED certified. So we are aiming to recycle as much as possible.
